Using w98 (se) i have some toolbars at top of screen (see pic) with the setting "always on top" ticked.Every reboot this gets unticked and i cant work out why.Ive checked all the simple things like remember folder views etc , and ive shut down any registry monitoring progs like spybots teatimer , but still the entry gets unticked on every reboot.Anyone have a solutuion?

Always on top so as not to crush the wings, right? :):)

Doesn't whatever software you are using have a Save Settings option? I know that on the file manager I use, PowerDesk, that any changes I make are temporary unless I force a Save Settings.

Hi Chris..Manny...
Yep dont wanna crush those fairy wings ..lol.I dont use any software to make the toolbars, its a windows setting i.e right click the taskbar >toolbars >new toolbar. When you make the toolbar ,the options in the pic i attached show. They all work i.e auto hide etc and always on top...except when i reboot the always on top gets unticked.I still cant work out why...grr

I see it now that's native to XP. When I first looked at it, with so many things there, it appeared something else. Sorry for the mistake.
Have you tried unlocking your taskbar, setting your toolbar on top and locking it back up.

Mmm..ive unlocked "my computer" folder and the toolbar folder.Another strange quirk is that the taskbar (at bottom) is ticked at "always on top".If i untick it and reboot it gets reticked again .Its opposite behavior to the toolbars at the top.Maybe its time for an upgrade to the dreaded xp.

yes i have Minoka..doesnt seem to be anything relevant.Out of curiosity (i know that you too use 98) would it be possible for you to create a toolbar ,,drag it to the top of your screen like mine and try the autohide and always on top settings and see if it stays there for you after a reboot?.At this point im not sure whether its a w98 thing or something peculiar to my setup.

I created a toolbar with one of my folders, checked always on top, auto-hide was greyed out (because auto-hide is not checked under my taskbar properties). Rebooted, new toolbar displayed exactly where I had left it.
