Hello, i really have no idea if my problem is connected to the outpost firewall, i just know that it started around when i installed it...
It usually apears when i surf around the web (and for some reason more often, but not always, when i enter www.aftonbladet.se which is a swedish news site).
Any how, i get a blue screen that says: Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal and then complaints about 0x000000D1 and something about the httpfilt.dll
Ill get a pen and paper to write the error down exactly next time i get it.
I get this error at least once or twice a day. And iv tried almost every thing i can think of to rid of it.
Formating and reinstalling windows xp sp2, installing all new drivers (graphics, sound, network), flashing new bios, disabling stuff in bios, switching RAM sticks (switching places, taking one out and then the other). And nothing works... Please help me

Welcome to the forums!
Aye, this is an issue that has been discussed over an over again.
If You search in the forums, You can even find workarounds for this problem.
I just had a BSOD yesterday even though I did all the workarounds - PC was running without restart for nearly a month now. Memory footprint was near 90+90 (Physical+virtutal) when I last checked it - obviously there is memory leak somewhere...
Everyone is expecting a miracle from OP2.5 - which is being developed. They are hinting that they will solve all these problems there. I hope they will do so.

Welcome to the forums. I have the very same problem as you do. I'm sorry to say this is (probably) a issue with HyperThreading. If you disable it in your bios you'll be fine until v 2.5 is released.

I did not know that... But it has been running smoth for half a year now with both sound chips.
The thing is that i want 3 out sounds. Which one has to be 5.1 and the other two stereo. I have a pair of headphones with 5.1 system that i use for games, then i use the stereo output (divided in a fork/split something) to power my homesound system, and my headphones that I use for CS (which does not cope to well with 5.1) and for IP phone.
is there another way to do this?
Could the two sound chips be the source of my problem?

so ironic! About 5min after i posted the last msg. My computer crashed (again with the driver irql.... and the httpfilt.dll) But this time when i started up i had NO sound! For some reason both my drivers had disapeard so all i had to do was reinstall drivers for live! and soundMax and it worked fine again. Its the first time i ever had this problem with the sound cards... Very strange, and gave me a great laugh since i just read your post... Its almost like my computer forgot that it was a problem and then got reminded from your post!

Hello ThanGhil,
Do you have FireWire and Hyperthreading enabled. This may be the problem.
There were reports here of problems with the 2, you should be able to find information by doing a search of the Forum. i believe there were some work arounds.
Hopefully 2.5 will fix that.

I can tell you that v 2.5 has solved one of my BSODs. So far so good!!
The 2nd BSOD can occur once/week or twice a day so I don't have any experience as of today...

I recently have started having similar problems with 2.5, I recently bought a new printer so I thought the HP drivers were the problem. On XPsp2 I was getting "invalid pool header errors" and when the crash occured the os didn't function properly and had to be reinstalled. MS basically thought that it was the drivers too and told me to go back to sp1. Started getting "irql" errors and couldn't shut down. On the last reinstall I just put on OP 2.5 and KAV and nothing else and went to updates and on the reboot irql. Uninstalled 2.5 and the everything has worked perfectly. I have a P3 so hyper-threading isn't an issue. Even with 2.1 I was always getting runtime errors at shutdown and would 2.1 also would just crash at times with blockpost running. I liked this firewall but that's it for me.
