Hey guys,

I got called to a friends M$ XP Computer today where Firefox and Outpost weren't playing properly.

Nothing in this Forum seemed to work.
'Allow most' did but that was just a test.
Following details I had in the past from someone on the forum resolved the problem I was confronted with.

Download latest Outpost and save on desktop for easy access
Disconnect from the Internet.
Uninstall Outpost (everything)
Reboot
Close all running software (so these files can clear)
Clear C:\Windows\Temp
C:Windows\Prefetch
In your 'Folder Option', open 'view' and check 'Show hidden files and folders'
C:\Documents & Setting\(your log on)\Local Setting\Temp
Hide hidden files
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Agnitum Shared

Using jv16 http://www.macecraft.com/ (free trial period) remove all traces refering to Agnitum and/or Outpost along with any previous Firewall you may have tried under 'installed software' in both 'Author' and 'Software'
Reboot
Again, shutdown all running software - must not have anti virus software working.
Make sure XP firewall is not active and reinstall Outpost.
Allow it to detect everything you got.
Reboot

Worked for me at least. (Glad something has for once)
I take no responsability if it doesn't work for anyone else
Have a good one.

Greetz Folks,

And now for a bit of heresy.............

I have changed the rules for Firefox TCP localhost loopback, outbound and inbound, to BLOCK and my system rule for localhost loopback is unchecked.

I still get the ocassional "my address" attack but it no longer locks up my Firefox connections and I can continue surfin' without having to shut down and restart Firefox.

The only odd thing I've noted is that I get the ocassional Active Content pop-up from Mozilla for referrers (???), blocking once for now.

Good Luck

Hi Kazzi.....sound advise that may well work. How's 'nix ?? I doubt it's anywhere near as entertaining as winders.
