Hello mantrasavia,
Don't panic :)
You still have 60 days to go. In about 58 days it will be time to renew. Renewal takes a few minutes, and it is an easy, painless process, but there is no point renewing yet.
When the time comes for renewal Outpost will prompt you with a window. All you have to do is follow the instructions in the window for renewal, pay by credit card, and a new licence key will be emailed to you within minutes. Copy the licence key from the email and paste it in the "insert key" window, and renewal is complete. Uninstallation and reinstallation of Outpost is not necessary :)

mantrasavia,
If you have difficulties when the time comes, just post again and somebody will help you, but you will see that it is designed to be very user-friendly :)

Is this the 6 month magazine cover versions? - That would be an "extended trial", and would need to be purchased (possibly with some concession applying) to be used beyond the end of the term.

For a purchased edition, the expiry means no more updates - if you have a valid purchased edition, then as I understand it, you can update to the current 3.0 version and then see how it goes.

Unlike an antivirus, a firewall does not need a constant feed of updates to remain useful.

If the half price update does not require that you retained constant support coverage (need to verify that), then you may as well wait for the next update to appear in the somewhat irregular schedule.

Hi MTDay,

"Unlike an antivirus, a firewall does not need a constant feed of updates to remain useful."

This is correct for mantrasavia's 2,7, but version 3 onwards has the antispyware feature which is updated regularly.

For those reading this for assistance with upgrading version 3, do you know if their antispyware database will continue to be updated after their current OP subscription expires?

Thanks,

And possibly, there may be a way to get a lifetime license. I don't know for sure and no guarantees but take a look:

Plus, for a limited time if you purchase this product you will get a Lifetime License which means you will never have to pay to upgrade again

Hi Manny,
saw that, but I have a feeling somebody has made a big printing error

seriously though, I have seen questions in the past about whether AS databases will be upgraded after subscriptions expires, but have not yet seen a definitive answer. Does anybody know?

The AS database updatess are part of the subscription package. Updates for everything expire when your license does.

It probably is a printing error but you never know. It can't hurt to check it out if someone is interested.

Hi mantrasavia,
With a single user licence what I said in my earlier post applies.
MTDay's comments were just in case you had the type of licence he referred to, which you don't.
With a single user licence that you have, when it expires you can continue to use the firewall without renewing though you will not be able to benefit from the upgrades nor will you be able to benefit from the Spyware Database updates.
To renew in 60 days when your licence expires, just follow the instructions that will appear onscreen, or the instructions in my last posting.
All will be ok :)
