Hey,
Unlike free ProPort 2.2 which I only have been using for one week, this one costs, be it only $9.95. Is anyone else using ProPort eXtreme who can recomend it? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I've used proport in the past on their free versions. Its a fine piece of software to say the least. The new version (extreme) offers a bit more functions which are helpful........However.......I have Outpost Firewall installed which is the best in my humble opinion!!! You really don't need anything else. Outpost properly configured blocks the necessary ports from any attacks. You can break a connection thru OP interface if need be...and as far as back trace you can install NeoTrace Express which is a freeware software which will track a ip back to its origin. Hope this helps a bit...:D

Thanx for your reply Bladerunner.
ProPort was interesting as even with OP up and running it warned me now and again of possible Trojan attack thru certain ports and gave the oppertunity of closing the port. I used to have Antz 2 but thought it a bit out of date. Somewhere I heard about Antz 3 coming along but nothing has come of it.
It makes it that bit more interesting when you can actually see which ports are open. :D
