there's a DNS registry patch here > http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_reg_xp.shtml
Will adding this patch to my registry have a negative impact on Outpost's operation do you think? i may need to give it a try and see what happens ?

Just make sure you back up the registry before something like that.
I don't see how it would work better than Outposts DNS cache, but I don't see much conflict.
It you want to use the XP Cache, then I would disable the one in Outpost for a while.

Hi

I have been clearing the DNS cache manually with no effect on XP or any application.

Root and/or GreyGhost,do either of you know how to disable the splash screen from appearing when launching Opera 6.05? i notice both of you use it.

Go to your Opera directory->Images

Rename Splash.png (the png to something else).

problem is that leaves you with a beige splash screen instead...so i deleted the Opera splash,renamed this http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/2/Posters/PF2051.jpg splash.png and added it to the images folder.now it's my "Opera" splash

go to opera directory and open opera6.ini with notepad.
Under "user prefs" enter SHOW SPLASH SCREEN=0
save and exit.Do this with opera shut down !!
