I just discovered this and post a link here in case other people don't know it exists. It's for those who don't want US spell checking and also don't want to manually install a dictionary in their own language.

http://www.ooodocs.org/dictinstall/index.html

Then follow these instructions (takes about 10 seconds to do - the program's still beta so a few things need doing by hand ;) ):

http://www.ooodocs.org/dictinstall/nexthelp.html

It's mentioned in this FAQ about installing dictionaries for those who need spell checking for langauges other then US, http://whiteboard.openoffice.org/lingucomponent/download_dictionary.html - Don't download dictionaries from here, the installer will download what you need. It will even remove US dictionaries.

Although it says that it's beta and it may screw up your install, I installed UK english in less then 30 seconds (after waiting five minutes for it to scan all my drives for OOo). Away to specify the install folder is needed I think.

The site itself has lots of good info about OOo

For those who don't know OpenOffice is a free open source multi-OS non-m$ office suite. It's great and if you really want/need to you can open/edit and create M$ office files with it. It's based on the code for star office.

It's native format is XML (that's going to be very useful in the future :) )

This site is also good, it has extra OO stuff like templates - but it hasn't got much at the moment (contributions needed) - I think it may be quite new.

Maybe one to bookmark and visit in a few months.
