To UK members ( and europeans who may be able to get channel 4 on satalite).
Is anyone planning on watching the live Post Mortem by Professor von Hagens at quarter to midnight?
Do you think this is a good idea? It's the first public post mortem in 200 years in the UK, but he may be arrested as he doesn't have a license to perform a post mortem.

Personally, I have no use for such stuff on TV. In my opinion it does not fall in the realm of educational TV, and who knows how many sick, twisted minds it may influence if shown in graphic detail.

Well I don't think I shall be watching it, just watching open heart surgery in human biology used to make me ill :o
I think it will be stopped and he will be arrested anyway. I wonder if the 500 people who paid 12 quid a head will get their money back?

Hey,
The intro to Quincy springs immediately to mind. I've seen a few being carried out at the correct place by the correct person but it is not the sort of thing which should be aired for all to see. Would stop a smoker in their tracks though.
Personally, I found them facinating especially if you get the right person to explain things as they are going along.

I have conducted many post mortems in my life. In fact, that used to be my job (Pathology Assistant) for several years. It is a very educational experience that I would reccommend - if you can tolerate such things.
During my time as a Pathology Assistant in Toronto I was able to see many things it has definately changed me for the better. I would not condone however, an unqualified person to do such a thing.

Hey RISC OS,
So, did you watch it? I didn't on principal but certainly read about it in this mornings papers and heard about it on 'The Wright Stuff'. I think doing it in front of a paying audience was definately a no-no as was doing it in - what was it, 20 - 30 mins.
Lets wait and see what the CPS come up with.
