Hi,

I'm new to this forum and new to Outpost V2.

I'm a Trillian Pro User and after starting it I let Outpost add this with ICQ rules..

Now I looked into these rules and was wondering about the settings for the first ICQ Client Connections (look at the picture please).

Do they get only valid for Trillian and not for any other application (or the whole system)?

How will we get updates to those automatically created rules (based on service) so that Trillian might be supported with it's own ruleset in the future (because Trillian also supports msn, aol, irc, etc.)?

Welcome to the forums, Highend,

The rules created apply *only* to the application. There is a separate set of rules (Global Application and System Rules) that apply to traffic not related to any application (these can be accessed by Options/System... and clicking on Settings in the GASR section).

I am not aware of any rules updates being offered - and they are not really necessary because you can customise them yourself. As long as you use the Rules Wizard policy, you will be prompted by Outpost whenever an application tries a connection that is not covered by an existing rule.

You may find this thread (http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3369) of use in setting up rules for Trillian.

Hi Paranoid2000,

thx for your support. I'll have to modify these rules (that were posted in the thread you mentioned) but that's what I was looking for.
