    OP 2008 - Do I need it ?

    Hi,

First visit here for a while and stumble on this new release. But do I need it ? I still run XP (and will do for many years to come I hope) so is version 8 really necessary ? If so and I do install it, do I have to save any files other than the config file (if it still exists in its present form) ?

    Thanks

2008 will install over some earlier versions. The best approach is to backup the configuration files (.cfg and .conf ) to another directory before making a change. Outpost 2008 is more secure than earlier versions but there have been some troubles and the new GUI makes it an adventure to find some settings.

The decision on whether to upgrade or not is up to the individual. 4.0 is still fully supported so the decision can be put off for a time.

Thanks. Yes, I see some people here are having problems so I'll upgrade at a later date. I don't want the hell I went through with OP 2 a few years ago !

    Cheers
