I'm seeing frequent prompts: "Application is attempting to inject its component into another process", where the process is the current application and the injected component is msctf.dl - that's not a typo, it's .dl not .dll. I don't have a msctf.dl file on my system. This one is usually triggered when the focus is given to a text entry box or editable control in a dialog or application.
I'm running the latest build on Vista on a Tablet enabled PC. Are these normal? The frequency with which I see this is a little disconcerting. Any thoughts? |

Re: msctf.dl injecting its component into another process
Any response would be appreciated. Can anyone at least say if they have seen this before?

Re: msctf.dl injecting its component into another process
sorry, i do not have vista or tablet, you may need to wait a bit for someone who has a similar system, is it a particular app or all apps? a google on that file name and a search of ms brought no results. msctf.dll is a system file, maybe you have a registry error or is it really msctf.dl_ ? the .dl_ version is what ms uses on the install cd (it's compressed).
msctf.dll is part of the alternative user input service of ms office products, if you do not need or use alternative languages and keyboard input you may want to remove it, see Linky on removal of msctf and the ms ref. at the bottom of it. not sure how it applies to vista. might be needed for the tablet input? may need reinstalling.
