Rearranging Columns

Bottom

You have your logs filtered and sorted but your still not happy with the logs, you want to move the columns into a different order. Can this be done? You bet! To rearrange the column order click on the heading of a column you want to move (in this case the Reason column) so that it becomes depressed:

[Clicking on a column heading]

Then move the mouse left or right (the column heading you are moving will become semi-transparent) over the other column headings and let go when you are happy with the new position. You can see exactly where the column is being moved to by looking for the blue dividing line between the other columns that you are dragging over:

[Moving the column heading]

When you next let go of the left mouse button the column you were moving will be in the new position. If you want to you can also move the columns by using the Columns window which is accessable via context menus or Outpost's 'View' menu View -> Columns...

[Context menus opeing the Columns window]

When the Columns window opens, highlight a column you want to move and click on the 'Move Up' and 'Move Down' buttons. 'Move Up' is the same as dragging a column to the left and 'Move Down' is the same as dragging a column to the right.
