Allowed
The Allowed log shows all packet activity that has been allowed by Outpost. There are five reasons why packets are allowed:
- You have a rule allowing the communication (while policy is set to
Rules Wizard mode).
- You don't have a rule denying the communication (while the policy is set to
Allow Most mode).
- You have the policy set to
Disable mode and as a consequence all communications is being allowed.
- You clicked on the 'Allow Once' button when asked to create a rule for a packet that didn't match any existing rule (while policy is set to
Rules Wizard mode).
- The remote host is in your Trusted Address/NetBIOS lists and is thus being permitted.

Reported
The Reported log shows all rules that have been applied that you asked to be notified about when you created the rule by selecting the 'Report' option. They can be either allowed or blocked, you can see which by looking at the State column in the Reported log. The Report function is useful for seeing when a particular rule has been applied (an e-mail being sent for example), you are also alerted by Outpost via a pop-up box:
