There are six sections to the Ads plugin options:

1 - Show Ad Trashcan

Some images will get by your ad blocking strings so to have Outpost block those images you just need to drag the image to the Ad Trashcan. The Trashcan is enabled by toggling this check box which cause this small window to appear:

Quicker access to the Trashcan

2 - String text box

If you want to add an entry manually, type the string in here and click on the 'Add' button. You can also use this text box to search your current strings. Just type what you are looking for and it will show entries that match what you have typed, as you type it.

3 - String list box

This is your full ad blocking string list. To modify an entry search for it by typing its name in the String list box and the 'Modify' button will become active. Click on the button and the entry in the String text box will become highlighted. You can now type in the changes and when you are happy click on 'Modify'.

4 - Browse icon

If you click on this icon a browse window will popup and you can navigate to a string file that you can open and add to your existing strings. A string file has the extension .ctl and can be made in a text editor. This allows you to use string lists compiled by others very easily, one such list is created by Eric Howes who created the AtGuard/NIS block file lists (AGNIS). He has created AGNIS for Outpost, you can download this from his site and add it to Outpost's default strings. The icon on the 'Image Size' tab is just an icon, you can only browse for CTL's by clicking on the icon on the 'HTML String' tab.

5 - Size text boxes

To add a new size of image to be blocked just add it here (dimensions in pixels) by giving a height and width and then click on the 'Add' button.

6 - Size list box

This is your full image size blocking list. To modify an entry double click on it and it will appear in the Size field box and the 'Modify' button will become active. Make the changes that you want and then click on the 'Modify' button.

Using the Ad Trashcan

If you go to a web site and still see images you want blocked you can drag them to the Ads Trashcan. When you drag the image to the trashcan the pointer will change to one like the image below:

[Dragging an image to the Ad Trashcan]

When you let go of the mouse button the Ad Trashcan window will popup:

[Ad Trashcan popup]

Outpost will present you with the string for blocking that image, you can either use it as is or you can decide to use just a portion of the string. When you are happy click on the 'OK' button and the image will be blocked when you next visit that site.
